How to transfer the ownership of a domain.

As all my domains are registered at GoDaddy therefore I strongly advise for buyer to open an account with them for a fast and easy transaction. GoDaddy is very well known and trustworthy registrar and to open an account with them is fast easy and free.

Once you have opened account with GoDaddy , after you have purchased a domain from my shop then all I need from you is your GoDaddy login name and your e-mail address. After I have received the payment from you I can transfer the purchased domain to your GoDaddy account.

At this point, GoDaddy will send an email notifying both parties of the transfer initiation. The email sent to you (new owner) usually contains a set of security keys combined with other information related to the domain transfer.

To complete the transfer  you the new owner must follow the steps outlined in the email sent by the registrar.

1.Log into your GoDaddy registrar account.

2.Accesses your account pending changes screen.( in trop down menu under my account )

3.Click on incoming account changes.

4.Enter the domain security codes as provided in the email you received from the registrar.

5.Comlete the transfer process and you are free to manage your purchased domain as you pleas.

Transferring a domain from one registrar to another.

If you want to use registrar other than GoDaddy, pleas familiarise yourself with transfer process of you registrar before you purchase a domain. Also find out if your registrar would charge for a transfer as some of them might do so.

 Transfer to another registrar can be summarized by the following steps:

1.Owner of domain name ( seller ) removes registrar lock placed against the domain name.

2.You as a New owner need to log into your account at your registrar.

3.Accesses the transfer domain screen and initiates transfer of the purchased domain.

4.Your registrar will inform  me the seller that a transfer has been initiated.

5.Then I will confirm transfer via my registrar account.

6.Transfer is completed

Note: Transfer may take a few hours to few days to show up in your registrar account.
